Our Water Stories is a collaborative research project that invites children to explore the presence of water in their everyday lives using film-based methods.
Developed and led by Monash University Research Fellow Dr. Bronwyn Cumbo, Our Water Stories explores child-water relations through the lens of first-time filmmakers (aged 10-11). Through this workshop-based process, the project investigates how everyday (and often invisible) encounters with water shape children's perceptions of broader water-related issues - from water conservation to climate change.
The pilot project (conducted with the support of Yarra Council in Melbourne) resulted in a short film (26 mins) which screened at the Monash University Museum of Art in March 2023.
